1) This does work
2) You need the Home-brew Channel on WiiU
3) Only tested in vWii Mode
4) Same SD card used from my original Wii with the same apps
5) No Blue-ray Playback and no Wii/GC Backup Loading either
6) Your DVD Drive needs the Y cable and yes a non Blue-ray drive should easily work as assuming it can get enough power while connected.
Hopefully a developer can see this and maybe have WiiMC on the hacked WiiU side which can offer more power. The idea being that with the increased power, one could possibly playback Blue-ray Movies, and or maybe WiiU Backups from a Disc? I’m not sure if it’s all possible.
